What AIKERYX collects, why we collect it, how cookies and consent work, and the rights you have under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.

Who we are
AIKERYX ("we", "us") operates aikeryx.com, an independent publication that reviews and compares AI tools. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it, including the extra rights available to readers in the EEA and the UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA).
What we collect
Information you give us. If you email us, subscribe to a newsletter, or send a correction, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We generally keep correspondence so we can answer follow-up questions.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referring page, and user agent. We use this for security, abuse detection, and diagnosing errors.
Analytics. With your consent, Google Analytics 4 measures aggregate usage: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and device type. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights may record page views and performance timings without advertising cookies.
Cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and remember choices such as your consent state. Analytics cookies are covered in the next section.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we aim to balance them against your rights and reasonable expectations.
Cookies and Google Consent Mode v2
We use Google Consent Mode v2. Until you make a choice, analytics and advertising storage are denied: no Google Analytics cookies are set and no advertising identifiers are read or written. A banner at the bottom of the page lets you accept or reject analytics cookies. Your choice is stored locally, and you can change or withdraw it at any time from that banner or by clearing site data in your browser. Rejecting analytics does not restrict access to any part of the site.
Third parties
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) — usage measurement, loaded only with your consent.
- Vercel Inc. — hosting, content delivery, Web Analytics and Speed Insights.
- Affiliate networks and the vendors we review — when you click an outbound link such as
/go/vendor-slug, the vendor may set its own cookie to attribute a referral and we may receive a commission. That cookie is governed by the vendor's own policy, not ours.
We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
How long we keep it
We aim to keep server logs for a limited period, generally months rather than years, unless a record is needed to investigate abuse. Analytics data follows the retention setting in our analytics account. Email correspondence is generally kept while it is useful for support, then deleted. Backups may persist for a short additional period.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and complain to your local supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, you may request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, and you will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as the CPRA defines those terms, so there is no separate opt-out to exercise.
To exercise any right, email hello@aikeryx.com. We aim to respond within one month and may ask you to verify your identity first.
International transfers
Our infrastructure and providers are located in the United States and other countries. Where personal information leaves the EEA or the UK, we rely on standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism offered by the provider.
Children
AIKERYX is written for adults evaluating professional software and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, or under 13 where that threshold applies. If a child has sent us information, email hello@aikeryx.com and we will delete it.
Do Not Track
There is still no common standard for how websites should respond to Do Not Track signals, so we do not currently act on them. You can control analytics through the consent banner described above.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top and, where practical, note the change on the site or mention it to subscribers. Continued use after a change means the updated policy applies.
